Check the listing times on either TBN or Smile of a Child to find Bugtime Adventures. This is a cool show that has a group of fun bugs learning Bible lessons that parallel the Bible story they are living around at that time. Each episode takes place concurrently with a famous Bible story. So on one hand the kids get a true Bible story and another application with more recognizable modern terms from the bugs. This is a good show and kids and adults will enjoy it. Saturday morning quality but God centered values. Enjoy. Check the clip below and see if ya like it!

Season 3 of Friends and Heroes is now available on Skyangel VOD. My son very much enjoyed watching seasons 1, and 2. He just started to check out season 3, and so far it is a hit also. These cartoons are full of action, fun, and even better biblical stories. Friends and Heroes is set in the Roman empire after Christ’s death, and follow the lives of members of the underground church. The animation is nothing special, but the show is well done none the less. In each episode you will go on adventures with Macky, and his friends as he and his family try to further the gospel without being caught and imprisoned. They also always have a biblical story thrown in that is being shared with someone. Friends and Heroes would appeal to most kids age 5-10. you can also find this series on some of the faith channels like TBN, and Smile of a child.

The second prequel to the Love Comes Softly series is Love’s Resounding Courage. It is another outstanding production. You can see the movie information on the following website:
http://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2010/03/loves-resounding-courage-hallmark.html
It continues the saga that connects the beginning to the eight in the Love Comes Softly series. Although the entire cast is different the story remains compelling. Even the original Michael Landon Jr. series also changed some of the cast members, it did not diminish the effectiveness of the stories.
These are first-rate movies and I highly recommend them. Like the other dramas in this entire series, the tragedies may not be appropriate for young children. The stories are heartwarming fare for the rest of the family.

Love Begins is a prequel to the Love Comes Softly series of movies. It is not a Michael Landon Jr. production, but it is done with the same excellence. You can find a blog review at the following web page: http://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2010/02/love-comes-softly.html
I highly recommend the PixL movie channel on 304; it is not yet on the program guide. Just tune in to see what is on. Halogen has moved to 314. If you look at “What’s On Now” on the Sky Angel website, you can see what is playing on channel 304. The information changes on the hour. When I want to Tivo record, I go to Find Programs and choose Record by Time or Channel, then I choose Manual Recording. I choose channel 304 and set the time for around 90 minutes. So far it works! If I get a longer movie, I just have to try again.
If you don’t have Tivo, I have noticed that the movies repeat, so if you miss the beginning you can watch it later. In the good old days, that is how my family watched movies in the theater. If we got there late, we just stayed to see the beginning. Since the movies were double-features it took awhile. However, we were there for both movies at any rate.

If you’re looking for a Christian movie full of action, then look no farther. Smuggler’s Ransom is the movie for you!
It is 1985, and the Cold War is raging. A Christian girl is arrested and imprisoned by the Communists while trying to smuggle Bibles into Romania.
The communists are really after her father, and are holding her hostage to try to get him to surrender, because he is a scientist whom they want. To keep this from happening, the US Government sends an elite agent to rescue her.
There is a clear presentation of the Gospel in this movie. There is some violence, but it is toned down, not gratuitous. Still, you might not want your young children to see this movie.
If you’re looking for an action-filled Christian movie, this is it.

I just saw a great movie on Video on Demand / Just Added, called Overcome.
Overcome is the story about a young man who backslides and becomes hardened to the Gospel. He becomes a bully, and he and his friends begin harassing and pushing around everyone.
Then one day, he gets in an automobile accident. After the accident, his entire life and attitude change. He becomes a Christian, and you can then see a very definite change in his life!
This is a really good movie!

I am enjoying the new PIXL movie channel (channel 304)! It is 24/7 family-friendly movies WITHOUT COMMERCIALS! Right now, I am watching “Aftershock: Earthquake in New York.” Yesterday’s offerings included the Janette Oke “Love Comes” movie series. Many of the movies are Hallmark movies which can also be seen on the Hallmark Movie Channel and the Hallmark Channel, but both of those channels have commercials. It will be nice to be able to watch those movies, as well as others, without commercials on PIXL.
Until PIXL listings show up in other guides, here is a place where you can get movie listings with detailed descriptions:

Enjoy!

During the last few months, I’ve dealt with a few of life’s little bumps, like identity theft and an auto accident which totaled my car, among other things. All of that has worked out fine, but with those distractions, I realize I haven’t spent the time I usually devote to exploring Sky Angel offerings, discovering new blessings among the program offerings. However, I’ve been especially thankful that my “regular” Sky Angel programs (many of them daily radio broadcasts) have been an ever-present companion to brighten my days and keep me focused on the Lord and the “big picture” of life. So today I’m not sharing about some gem I’ve just discovered on Sky Angel; instead, I’m taking a moment to express my gratitude for the steady availability of all my favorite programs, day after day.
I’m also enjoying the blessing of using Tivo recordings to automatically change channels so I won’t miss the beginning of any of my favorite programs!

Starting at 10:30am on GMC is a days worth of awesome movies! Yet with SkyAngel IPTV and 48hr playback you can take your time and watch commercial free! The run starts with the great new movie from Pure Flix Ent. called “What If…?”. U can read my earlier blog to see that review. Suffice it to say it is a great movie. After that the film my wife and I just watched is the film, “Miracle of the Cards”. This movie is based on a true story and stars Kirk Cameron and is made by Cloud Ten pictures, who released the “Left Behind” series of films. Next is back to back football. First is “Hometown Legend” by “Left Behind” author, Jerry Jenkins. An OK film filled with faith and football. Next is Sherwood pictures incredible hit, “Facing the Giants”. This movie is absolutely excellent as all Sherwood pics have been. F.T.G. really brought Sherwood into the spotlight as a legitimate film company that makes quality faith based films that both inspire and entertain. If you liked Disney’s “Remember the Titans” you’ll love F.T.G.! Last but not least is Sherwood’s latest release, “Fireproof”. This movie also stars Kirk Cameron as a firefighter who’s marriage is falling apart. This film is truly inspiring and very well made. Any married couple will benefit from this movie. The movie actually inspired a book called “The Love Dare”. I don’t think you’ll be dissapointed by any of these films. “Hometown Legend” maybe the least desirable but that may only be because it is compared to F.T.G. and there just isn’t any comparison. For well made, faith based, entertaining films you can’t go wrong with this load of films! God bless!

My son got me out of bed this morning because he was surprised that there were some new channels on Skyangel. He had turned the TV on to check out some cartoons on Qubo, and noticed there were 5 new channels. You can now watch Cars TV, Pets TV, My Destinations TV, Recipe TV, and Wealth TV on Skyangel. We spent some time checking out these new channels, and the kids were excited to watch a show about miniature horses on Pet TV. I noticed the Wealth TV had some shows about renovating, and My Destination was showing some beautiful homes and locations. I’m happy that Skyangel is constantly adding to their channel line up as well as their VOD section. The kids are also excited seeing that Veggie Tales are supposed to be coming soon to Skyangel VOD.
