Elf-Man: VOD - ChristmasBy Mason Goodknight December 9th, 2012
OK, laugh at the poster. OK laugh at me. I watched this movie and I laughed quite a bit. I even got a little teary eyed at some points. This is a cute little family film that will probably have your 10 and under crowd laughing alot!
In really short, a little girl wishes for a good Christmas on an old family elf doll. Pretty soon, Voila! Elf Man is here. But he doesn’t start out as Elf Man he’s just an elf(Mistaken for a troll…and more later!). Cue the bad guys ala “Home Alone”, and the nerdy dad with the world saving solar chip, and the semi ditzy but cute Butcher lady(Yes I said butcher!), and an eccentric and often funny gramma, and you got Elf Man!
You really have to pay attention to the nuances in this little comedy. You’ll notice that most of all the Christmas Carols are Christian ones. I thought it was weird but nice. This is definitely not a Christian film, but it was Christian friendly as far as content. You will even get the gospel through the classic God honoring Carols throughout!
I won’t spoil it, but make sure you’re paying attention when gramma brings out the fruitcake! When the gunslinger songs are being whistled or the eerie creepy moments songs are being played, note what songs they are. You’ll get a laugh out of it. It has some cool quirky moments.
Overall a good family film that you’ll enjoy the laughs with. Best of all…FREE!
