Moving time has arrived for our household and I wish it was as easy as the picture!

Moving is stressful and can be overbearing at times. So many things to do and places to call to schedule the move. And the packing, yes the packing doesn’t end!

We made a wise plan to pack from 9am to 5pm and remember in between to take a break and eat. My haven in the evening is my recliner and watching Sky Angel IPTV.
The best part of having Sky Angel IPTV is I won’t have to schedule a moving installation and wait for someone to come. I just have to have the phone company turn on the DSL, turn on the TV and then plug in our Sky Angel IPTV receiver.
The last items to get packed will be the TV and the Sky Angel IPTV Receiver. It will also be the first items we unpack. We go to settlement on the 28th and move on the 29th so pray for us for strength!

OK everybody knows I’m a big Wretched fan. Well now my bias is even a little bigger. Todd recently introduced a new segment on the show where you send in a clip less than a minute long that you feel might bless people. Well I previously recored what I called “The Shortest synopsis on the Gospel of Mark Ever”. I put it on youtube a while ago. So I remade it for his new segment “Preacher’s Potluck”. At the bottom of my video I listed the web address to the evangelism ministry I head up. So it was kind of a “shameless plug”, as Todd himself likes to say. So all that to say if you watch Wretched for this Tuesday at 1:00am on 48hr playback you’ll see my segment giving you the shortest synopsis of the Gospel of Mark ever! God bless and enjoy!
Here’s the original clip from youtube below if you miss the show and still want to see the synopsis.

Hey all! If you’re like me you like good Christian and family friendly films. If you’re even more like me you like to watch them cheap…or FREE! Don’t get me wrong. The convenience and variety of SkyAngel’s VOD section is awesome! The new Christmas section is better than last year by far! That said if you’re willing to do a little huning you can find a lot of movies on regular channels. I sometimes give more specific detail but for a short post this really is just hints. Check out GMC,TBN, JCTV, INSP, and Cornerstone regularly. These have various movies on them all through the day. When browsing through the awesome 48hr playback feature of SkyAngel make sure to look for any movie an hour and a half or longer. It may just say “Movie”, but it is often a hiding gem. In recent weeks greats like Fireproof, Facing the Giants, Flywheel, Jesus of Nazareth, What If?, and many more have played. So do some browsing and enjoy the gems you uncover. Then, spread the word! God bless and Merry Christmas!

I am very excited about the upcoming upgrades to Sky Angel IPTV and WebTV new features in early 2012. I currently have two Sky Angel Receivers the Series l and Series ll. We use the Series ll receiver in our living and Series l receiver in our bedroom. So we will be just fine for the upgrade since we watch our living room TV 95% of the time.
But it’s highly recommended if you only have the Series l to update your receiver to the Series ll as the Series l won’t be able to receive the upgrades because of memory and processing power to support the upgrades. Sky Angel will continue to support the Series l with the current level service and features for the foreseeable future at this time, but you won’t be able to enjoy all the new upgrades coming in 2012 with Series l receiver.

What are some of the 2012 upgrades?
Sky Angel will be upgrading its video delivery software. Not only will this new system upgrade deliver a more reliable, higher-quality viewer experience, but it will also provide many of the exciting features you’ve been asking for such as an interactive electronic program guide, personalized settings for time zones, HD capability, automatic screen adjustment and adaptive streaming to adjust picture quality based on the strength of your Internet service.
How will this transition affect your equipment?
For a limited time Sky Angel will sell a new Series II receiver at a discounted purchase price to current Sky Angel TV subscribers who are currently using the Series I receiver and have no outstanding balance on their account. Delivery could take up to 8 weeks or more depending on demand, the availability of the manufacturing process and international transportation delays. Shipping and activation fees may apply. Equipment and activation subject to availability. For complete details visit www.skyangel.com/upgrade.
Exciting news for Sky Angel WebTV Too!
Along with the Sky Angel IPTV upgrades the distribution of the Sky Angel WebTV service to mobile/connected device (i.e. smartphones, Roku, iPad, etc.) and TV sets that support Internet connectivity without a set top box. And Sky Angel WebTV is available World Wide!
Get ready for Sky Angel to change the world on how we watch TV one more time! Share the news! Its like waiting for a new present and I can’t wait to get it!

I was contacted this week to be a blogger for the Sky Angel Blog. I find it a honor to blog about Sky Angel Faith & Family. We are new to the IPTV part of the Sky Angel Faith & Family but not new to Sky Angel and their commission to give wholesome programming to the world.
Just a little history, we started watching Sky Angel via DISH Network back in 1996 and in 2000 we switched having our satellite turned to the Sky Angel signal. In 2008 Sky Angel separated their partnership with DISH Network due to contract issues and at that time we didn’t go to Sky Angel IPTV, it was new and we were apprehensive (Big Mistake). We wanted to go back to DISH Network but unfortunately they would not work with us to change the satellite signal. So for one year we were with DirecTV and then we went to DISH Family Programming.
In August 2011 INSP was pulled from the DISH Network programming due to contract issues (sound familiar). I wasn’t a happy camper loosing INSP so I went to Sky Angel Faith & Family website and I found they had a Facebook page. I signed us up for the 48 hour WebTV (which can be viewed globally) and was impressed with the Sky Angel programming offered on the WebTV but we wanted the Sky Angel Faith & Family programming.
So I got two Sky Angel IPTV receivers for our home via Ebay (you can buy your receiver or lease your receiver through Sky Angel) and signed up for the Faith & Family Programming. I wanted us to be able to watch in our living room and in our bedroom.
In the beginning we had some issues with “retrieving/buffering” but I called Sky Angel (Super) Support and we got it fixed! I also increased our DSL from 1.5mg to 3.0mg, which you don’t have too but we are heavy users of our home wifi. We have a home network with two laptops & my blackberry on our home wifi plus the two Sky Angel IPTV receivers. I work out of my home and Sky Angel IPTV is on when I am working!
So what do I like about Sky Angel Faith & Family? To name a few things:
- Sky Angel Customer Service is totally awesome!
- Sky Angel Support is super!
- I love the 48-hour playback feature on the Sky Angel Faith Channels to watch a program I missed.
- The picture quality is exceptional and I so am amazed with IPTV.
I am so glad we switched to Sky Angel IPTV Faith & Family and I am excited to be a part of the Sky Angel Blog! I will do my best to keep you informed of how great Sky Angel Faith & Family IPTV is via the Sky Angel blog.

I explained in an earlier blog post why I have chosen to subscribe to both Sky Angel IPTV and Sky Angel WebTV. The WebTV service offers the great advantage of a “portable” Sky Angel service. The IPTV service can also be portable, but the WebTV programming is instantly accessible on any computer, from any location - the ultimate in true portability. Additionally, on the WebTV service, the 48-hour playback of a program is available immediately.
I am learning that Sky Angel WebTV helps me take better advantage of the many program options. I can very quickly jump around from one program to another as I “try out” various programs and discover programming I have not watched before or make a decision about what I will watch at the moment. I can also move the slide to advance quickly through a program I am viewing. This is especially useful if I want to watch only one segment of a magazine-interview type of show like 100 Huntley Street. That show features monthly or weekly special guests like Andy Stanley or Priscilla Shirer. While I may not have time to watch the entire 60-minute broadcast each day, with the WebTV, I can very quickly move through the program to find the specific segment I want to watch.
I also use an HDMI cable to project the WebTV programming to my 46″ TV, which allows me to sit back and view a concert or movie on my living room TV (my IPTV box is in my computer room).
Yes, I can do most of these things with the IPTV service, but with the ability to jump around so quickly on Sky Angel WebTV, I see that I am more likely to take advantage of free moments throughout the day to “catch” good programs I might not take time to access on the IPTV box.
If you want to check it out, Sky Angel offers a 48-hour free tryout of the WebTV service at www.skyangel.com/webtvtrial. If you do that and decide not to continue, do be sure to cancel before the 48 hours is up.

If you’ve read my posts in the past you know I’m a fan of Pure Flix movies. I recommend you swing by the Pure Flix section on VOD and check out some films there (except “The Scarf” it is really tacky and A Pure Flix rep I spoke with is actually trying to get it removed from Sky Angel as they don’t even like it associated with them!). If you like end times stuff check out “In the Blink of an Eye”. It is there and well done as well as other great films. I hope Sky Angel adds other greats like “What If” and “Christmas with a Capital C”. However after reading one of Karole’s (our moderator) post a while back I was directed to a site asking people to see about a promoting a new movie from Pure Flix. The film is called “Jerusalem Countdown”. This based on John Hagee’s novel of the same name. It stars David AR White, Bionic Man Lee Majors, Stacey Keach and Randy Travis as well as Christian singing start Jaci Velasquez. This is Pure Flix’s biggest action, effects movie yet! Best of all you can help bring it to your town or church! Well I searched it out and after talking with folks at Pure Flix I got info on how to host the film in my town or church. I helped bring a Christiano Brother’s film called “Time Changer” (Also on VOD) to my town a few years back and it did well enough that the theater extended it’s run an extra week because of viewer attendance. Lord willing I’ll be able to help get this one here too. If you’d like to help bring this film to your theater or church check the info below and follow the necessary links. God bless!

I made the decision a number of months ago to subscribe to BOTH the Sky Angel IPTV service (family values pak) and the Sky Angel WebTV service. I’ve had the IPTV service in my computer room since it began and thoroughly enjoy the wide selection of programming every day (with viewing options greatly expanded by the 48-hour playback feature). With the addition of an FM transmitter, I can send the audio of any Sky Angel program to every radio in my house, garage, or yard.
So why did I add the WebTV service? While I can send Sky Angel audio to every room of my house, adding the web TV service allows me to also enjoy the video on my second TV withoug purchasing another IPTV box. I can use my netbook computer with an HDMI cable to project the Sky Angel WebTV programming to my 46″ HD TV, or I can view the programming on the computer. Granted, the web service doesn’t include every channel the IPTV service does. It does, however, include the 48-hour playback feature, on-demand programming, and the great advantage of portability. I can watch Sky Angel WebTV programming in any room, and I can easily take it with me when I am away from home, or when I want to share a particular program with someone else.
That’s a whole lot of viewing/listening options for $39.98 a month, quite a bargain, in my opinion!

I used to be a big NFL fan. Now I must admit I haven’t watched anything but snippets of games and a few quarters of the last few Super Bowls for years. That being said I do still enjoy football just not enough to supplant other more important areas of life. However, as I was cruising the VOD section the other day I saw they had some “Top 10_____” shows on there. I really enjoyed watching the “Top Ten Games with a Name”, program. These can be seen on occassion on NFL network but here I can watch it like a DVD and Fast Forward/Rewind/Pause, etc. I loved seeing “The Catch” in the list. I was like 5 or 6 years old when my dad brought me to see that game live! I can still remember my dad picking me up and swinging me around when Clark made “The Catch”. That game really was the end of a dynasty(Dallas)and the beginning of a new one(S.F.). Of course that isn’t the only things there either. There’s player profiles, draft stuff, and more! If you’re an NFL fan check out their stuff on VOD!

My church had a family picnic yesterday, as an alternative to Mardi Gras. The pastor allowed me to hook up one of my Sky Angel boxes, and we watched six hours of Spirit Television. What a great thing to watch at church!
I was able to talk to some people about Sky Angel. Two of them may actually sign up.
I’ve been wanting to give a demo of Sky Angel for a while, and I finally was able to. It worked perfectly on the church’s wireless internet signal.
My next project — take my receiver box with me when I go on vacation, and watch it in my hotel room. I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted.
