I think one of the most incredible teachings any Christian would like to hear that is not in the Bible is the one Jesus gave to His disciples on the Road to Emmaus. Well I know I’d love to hear it! Now we don’t get that teaching but we get an idea of what it could have been. From the same people who brought us Matthew and ACTS now we have The Road to Emmaus. Bruce Marchiano returns as Jesus as He explains to his disciples the message of Christ throughout the Bible. It is a story of redemption and grace. I would have loved to have seen this handled with Passion level film production and length but we don’t always get what we want. However, this is a good God honoring movie that can bless any believer at any stage in their walk. A good family movie. Just remember this is not a word for word scriptural account like Matthew or Acts. This is using scripture to give a best guess of what Jesus shared with His disciples that day. That being said it is soaked with scripture and is overall pretty good for the low budget. Folks who liked Marchiano as Jesus will like him here as well. Enjoy!

Today with God is more than a personal enrichment tool. It is a Gospel outreach ministry. Please follow the link above to watch a quick video showing the show in some of it’s many translations. This show is on many networks and goes through the Visual Bible movies “Matthew” and “The Gospel of John”. Interspersed between major scenes is teaching and commentary by Messianic Jew, Dr. Randy Weiss. With his soft and sincere voice Dr. Weiss lends a worthy help for long time believers and newcomers alike in this series. This series would be great for individual or group study of these amazing Gospels. You may even want to help send these Gospel videos around the world! Check them out and God bless you as you follow His leading!

I pray that everyone who reads this post has been blessed this Christmas. I want to clarify the term blessing as well. Blessed in it’s most literal sense means “Oh so very happy!”. Now undoubtedly presents given and received, family, friends, holiday music, etc. can all lend to having a blessed Christmas. I know I was blessed as well as my family by the wide variety of Christmas programs on SkyAngel that pointed us to Christ and the true reason for the season. However, you may have had all the things above including great SKyAngel programming, and still missed the blessing. Yet, you could be reading this and on the other hand have missed any and/or all of the things above in the season and had the greatest Christmas ever. All because Christmas and all the hype and all the billions spent in relation to it are only side issues in reality. If you did not take the last couple months to reflect on the incredible gift of Christ, you missed the biggest blessing of Christmas! It is all about Christ humbling Himself and coming to be our savior that makes all the songs woth singing and all the gifts worth giving. So if for some reason you felt a little cheated this year by Christmas, please, look in awe and wonder to the Christ for whom we celebrate the season. Immanuel, God with us! Now looking at the same coin from the other side please consider this. If for some reason you had an incredible Christmas. If all the gifts and all the celebration left you fulfilled and blessed. Left you feeling as if it couldn’t have been a better Christmas. Yet, you recognize that Christ was not the center of your celebrations or the reason for which you gave and received gifts. Then please, humble yourself in the sight of God and beg His forgiveness for neglecting to keep your heart and mind focussed on our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. The day is not so important as the heart that celebrates the Christ of Christmas day. Take this day and humbly ask God to give you a heart to praise Him everyday! God bless and have a blessed new year and maybe for some, new life!

If you love Christmas you will be blessed to find many great titles to enjoy in the VOD section just for Christmas! More than videos though I pray that we all spend some serious time reflecting on the incredible gift Christ is to us and the world! In this season we as Christians have a greater freedom to share our faith with others. Now the world is never glad to hear about Christ, yet during Christmas they have come to expect it! Go out and sing some Gospel rich Christmas Carols! Hand out tracts! Spread the Gospel! Let us as believers in Christ set our hearts and minds on making Him the centerpiece of our Christmas and of those around us. God bless you as you celebrate the coming of our savior this season!

If you’ve never seen this film you are missing a Christmas Great! Brought to us by the same folks who produced all the “Stranger” movies/videos. Supposedly, Jefferson Moore(Jess/Jesus)actually wrote this one. I think he did a great job! The Perfect Gift is all about a selfish little girl, a nativity lawsuit against a church, Christmas, and how Jesus is what they all need! You can pick this up on DVD as well. I hope it will be available on VOD again in the Christmas section, it definitely belongs there. We need more movies that get our focus on Christ! Enjoy and God bless!

Mayor Dan Reed(Ted McGinley) and his brother Greg(Brad Stine)are two Christian men in a small Alaskan town trying to save Christmas from Dan’s former high school nemesis and atheist, Mitch Bright(Daniel Baldwin). This is an original story that has enough plot twists to keep you interested but never leaving you in doubt to the ultimate end of the story. That being said it was better than I might have guessed and I was pleasantly surprised. If you haven’t been introduced to comedian Brad Stine yet, then you get to meet him here. If you like him in these short sequences as Greg, you’ll love his whole routine. I highly reccommend purchasing, “Put a Helmet On”, his first and I think, best routine on DVD. This Christmas movie is on par with any Hallmark movies’ production value and acting but excels them in true Christian content! Based on the song of the same name by “Go Fish”, this movie is a real gem. Made by PureFlix this is really a good film. As I’ve stated before PureFlix makes good films. This movie is one of their best. What I love most about PureFlix is that they are not afraid to make clear their films are Christian films. However, they do not sacrifice quality for content. I applaud PureFlix for their film and GMC for their partnering with them. I’ll have more reviews from GMC later, as they have had, and are having, a stellar Christmas movie lineup this season! Check them out and spread the word!

Head over to JCTV at 2200 on 11/21/10 and sit back and enjoy two great films giving excellent evidence and entertainment regarding Jesus Christ! Now don’t worry because it Says “Laugh with the Skit Guys”. That is just mislabeling(Which sadly sometimes happens with some of SKyAngel’s service providers.) This will start you off on Lee Strobel’s documentary based on his best selling book “The Case for Christ”. This is a very well made documentary giving much evidence for Jesus Christ. I don’t agree with Lee on everything or even like all his guests theology. However, in this film everything seems very solid. It is part documentary and autobiography. Following directly after TCFC is “The Perfect Stranger”. This actually starts in the TCFC time slot. I have this movie on DVD as well as the sequel. I have enjoyed every “Stranger” film and there are many. This is a film where a skeptic lawyer is invited to dinner with Jesus. She asks many ?’s skeptics ask and the actor playing Jesus seems quite Christlike in his answering. This film is both entertaining and informative. I think you’ll enjoy it. If you want to get some evidence for yourself without breaking out the books this would be a good block of tv to sit back and enjoy. Prayerfully consider sharing these films w/your non believer friends. Share the scripture with them and encourage them to turn from sin to Christ. While we must always trust in God to do the saving these films may be used by Him in concert with your testimnoy and sharing in the Bible to plant and water seeds of the Gospel that He may bring to fruition in His time. God bless and enjoy!

Watched another episode today of the StoryTeller Cafe on NRB. This may show up on other networks as well. I’m not sure if I reviewed this show before but it is worth repeating especially considering that Toy Story 3 just came out on DVD. Produced by CBN, Story Teller Cafe is very much a knock off of Toy Story. Obviously not Pixar Quality but decent 3d animation that most kids who like Toy Story will like here as well. Parents wil especially like that the stories told here are straight out of the Bible. Now they trim a little here and there but it gets the main biblcial points to the age group it aims at. The episdode I watched aired at 0600 on the I think the 13th? I believe it’s on every week if not multiple times. Like I said earlier it probably comes on other places too. It is a good one for young kids who like Toy Story and other cartoons. My 2 and 4 yr olds like it. Give it a look for kids and grandkids alike! God bless!

One of the Christiano Brothers films, “Lay it Down” is a well made film preseting evangelism in the midst of illegal street racing. Made as a Christian response to movies like the popular series, “The Fast and the Furious” w/Vin Diesel. Like most Christiano films the quality is good. Not big Hollywood budget quality but better than many Christian production teams. The message is clear and sincere and it is all about redemption in Christ. Character depth is good as well as acting. Basically you have two brothes as main CHaracter who love to street race. The older brother races the younger tunes his ride. The older brother “Bam” is the king of racing. He gets in a freak accident and realizes life is short. A pastor friend of his mothers shares the Gospel and he “Lays it Down” to Christ. Of course everybody close to Bam feels betrayed especially his brother. The movie ends well but not as you may expect. There is some good twists and Christ is exalted. While no sinner is seeking God(Rom. 3)and many youth are even vocally opposed or demeaning to Christianity. Some may watch this that are interested in street racing with an air of making fun of it. However, faith comes from and hearing from the word of God(Rom. 10:17). And there is plenty of the word preached here in a non preachy way. In the end seeds will be planted for the Gospel. You can also pick this up on DVD. Check it out!
